Celebration VI Is Gonna Happen

Here are a few early hints for Celebration planners: step up your game! Get some guests we haven't seen before or not in a long time. Deep six tacky, cheesy stuff like the dumb wedding chapel or the speed dating room. While I'm on the topic, for the past couple of Celebrations I get the vibe that it's a small group of Lucasfilm staffers and their friends putting on their own inside-joke party instead of really thinking about what the fans want. The best ideas actually came from fans outside that milieu. Collectors pretty much planned and ran the entire collecting track. Belgian fans built those massive replicas. A fan came up with the idea for the prequel panel. The R2 Builders' room was a hit at both Celebration IV and V. As I keep saying, some of us like to read books every now and then. How about a panel on SW as a myth? Characters as archetypes?

Oh and don't pick Florida in August.

Hey, Remember That Live Action Show?

Since I seldom bother watching G4, except for "Cheaters," I missed Papa George's appearance on "Attack of the Show." The point was to promote Star Tours and chat a little about turning the saga into 3D, but the live action show came up and shockingly, Papa George had some info!

Does this mean there's 50 hours of filmed footage? If so, is it all visual effects? 50 hours' worth of test shots? Or is there 50 hours' worth of scripts? It sounds like they have something in the can ("it looks like Star Wars") but do they even have a cast yet? It does sound like they are still trying to figure out how to make the show cheap enough for television without sacrificing quality. Attempting to discern Lucas-ese is a challenge. Let's face it, he's a pretty obtuse guy sometimes. But it's the most he's said about the show in years.
