I have a monster collection of Star Wars tees and quite a few hats that I've acquired over the years. Almost all of them were bought in the men's department and even the ones that were obviously made with female fans in mind were cut the exactly like the men's shirts. In other words, there was no difference between the XL Princess Leia tees I'd buy in the '90s and any ol' men's XL t-shirt with a sports team or beer brand on it.
A big part of that was just the way fashion was back then. The idea of a women's cut tee hadn't seen light of day since the mid-1980s and didn't return until the mid-to-late 1990s. Not only were my Star Wars tees big and bulky back then, but so were my rock 'n roll/goth tees, and blank tees I'd buy at Old Navy or the Gap or whatever.
Once the women's cut came back, it was about oh, 2002 before anyone made a Star Wars tee in that style. And that was a juniors' style babydoll, meant to be small and fitted, from Hot Topic. I started favoring the smaller style over time, though if I like a shirt enough to get it and men's is all they have, I just get a men's small or medium.
But what I particularly like about Her Universe's stuff is that it doesn't look as teenagery as the juniors stuff, which can be tricky for a 40-something like me to pull off, and it complements the kind of clothes I wear all of the time better than a regular man's t-shirt. I also like that I can get a Han/Leia design, which most licensees wouldn't bother making since they're focused on the male market.
And the men's department isn't going to have jewelry for fangirls either. HU has made only a couple of things so far, but there's a potential goldmine for jewelry that hasn't been met yet.
