The thing is, though, a lot of fans dislike on some new stuff but still love the old. I don't think anyone would care this much or be this passionate about something they completely hated.

I'm one of the fans of everything who could care less about the changes Lucius is making (and who thinks that the Special Edition ending of ROTJ is one of the most powerful moments of the saga). But I think that just as I have the right to my opinion, so do other fans. There are parts of the EU that I really passionately hate, and I want to be free to rant about those things as much as I praise the things I love. And I think others should have the same freedom.
