First, today's item for news of the weird, a Jedi Academy set up in--of all places--Romania. This is from BruneiDirect.com:

Jedi Academy opens in Romania

Bucharest - A Star Wars acedemy that teaches about the religion of the Jedi, use of the light sabre and speaking in Wookiee has opened its doors in Romania.

Adrian Pavel, who runs the country's Star Wars Club, decided to found the Jedi Academy after getting so many questions from fellow fans on how they can be more like their heroes in the Star Wars films.

He told local daily Libertatea: "We have meetings and lectures, and we dress like Jedis, but this is no longer enough. We'll soon learn how to handle the light sabres in academy classes.

"The academy is open to everybody. There is a quiz with 100 questions that will cover even the darkest aspects of the Star Wars phenomenon that needs to be done in 24 hours. Anyone who passes quiz will have a place in the Jedi Academy."

The academy is also offering special modules for true devotees, like cooking some of the dishes seen in the Star Wars films including Wookiee Cookies, Princess Leia Danish donughts, Sand Trooper sandwiches and Twin Sun toasts. -- Ananova News

You tell me when we saw the characters noshing on Twin Sun toasts and Sandtrooper sandwiches. I wonder how hard that quiz is.

A new webdoc went up this evening, this time focusing on our old pal Threepio. It's bittersweet, nostalgic, and funny. Most of the interview with Anthony Daniels is done on the Tantive IV set. There's a cute blooper in there where he falls down during a serious scene between Obi-Wan and Padmé. The expressions on the actors' faces are priceless. Hopefully we'll get to see the full extent of that blooper on the DVD.

In this Obi-n-Padmé scene (described as "serious" and "tragic") are a couple of interesting things. Padmé appears in yet another never-seen-before outfit, this one in black (different from another black outfit she wears in the film) and she has a contraption in her hair similar to one she wore in AOTC when she arrives at the Lars homestead. Obi walks over and kisses her on each cheek (in kind of a Euro-style hello) as she says urgently, "Obi-Wan, thank goodness you're here." At least that's what I could make out...Daniels is talking over the dialogue.

Go check it out!
