This Week's Stupid Poll
May. 8th, 2005 09:08 pmThe winner of last week's poll, what you thought of the "Hero's Fall" music video was..."It would have been even better if Anakin wore that Decameron nightshirt."
[Poll #490308]
I wonder which answer will win?

May. 8th, 2005 09:10 pmOne of the Mother's Day activities was venturing out to Viejas Outlet Center, which is quite possibly the most beautiful outlet mall in America. It's up in the mountains on an Indian reservation (a casino is right across the street) and it's very Southwestern in design, complete with a creek that runs through the mall and piped-in relaxing Native American music. Anyway, there's a Big Dogs there and God help me, I love their punny SW t-shirts. I have the ROTJ and TPM shirts as well as a Petme Imadogga shirt a friend got me from the AOTC era. And I have an Empire Bites Back mini lunchbox. Already I have their Sith Happens t-shirt and I saw their brand spankin' new "Dog Wars Epawsode III: Revenge of the Sniff" shirt. Of course I bought it.
Someone on the A/P Defenders thread has found a couple of great filks (sorry, that's what they are) that were done a while ago, but are still enjoyable:

Look up songs number #15 (a country-fried ode to Padmé Amidala) and #16, which is perhaps the official theme song for Anakin's fangirls.
All laughs aside, check out the May 8 entry for Desiring Hayden to download a new version of the Tragedy t.v. ad. My God. This will hit you like a ton of bricks. That singing at the beginning of the ad sounds more like Dead Can Dance than anything having to do with SW. To quote Florida Evans in Good Times's most tragic episode, "Damn! Damn! Damn!"

Finally, I found out that the gal who is the co-founder of the local SW Fan Force was one of the people who bought those tickets to Skywalker Ranch for the celeb shindig on Friday. Before I thought she got to go because she's a BNF or something and I kept thinking, "Man, my life sucks, I never get to go to these things, etc.." Then I find out she actually was one of the winners of the eBay charity auction. She actually split the winning bid with another person, meaning she "only" paid just under 10 grand to go to this thing. Then I started thinking, "Man, my life sucks, I don't have 10Gs sitting around I could shell out for these things, etc.."
