More pictures from Toy Fair went up today and while those Gentle Giant statues look wonderful, they are too pricey.
However, they also debuted more maquettes, including an animated style Leia and Artoo that ROCKS:
http://www.rebelscum.com/tf2006/tf06-GGSanimated/image10.aspSexy enough for fanboys, cool enough for girls to collect. I also saw that they will be making animated Clone Wars Bust-Ups, the little cheap versions of their busts, including Snowbunny!Padmé and Clonetrooper Armor!Obi-Wan. Again, the new Qui-Gon bust looks incredible and EU fans will be pleased as punch that Mara Jade will make her debut in that line. I have to say it's a good likeness of Shannon McRandle.
maychild will probably buy one for target practice ;).
From WonderCon, there was no announcement yet about a C4. Steve Sansweet said it was still being discussed. I give 'em until Comic Con to make up their minds. But the rumor mill I've seen says that they are deciding between St. Louis and Indianapolis, depending on when the new convention center in Indy will be completed. If it won't be finished in time for spring 2007, it'll be in the STL. Take it with a chunk o' salt but honestly, if it's not next year, then it's never. I can't imagine there being as big a demand for a con in say 2009 as there would be next year.
Sansweet also said the upcoming live action t.v. show will take place around the OT era. Hmm, I suppose this means no familiar movie characters after all. The time period has fluctuated a few times anyway, so we'll see. But I guess that since the new Clone Wars cartoons will cover the PT era, the live action show will lean toward the OT era.
