lazypadawan: (ANH ceremony)
Lucasfilm has given in to Fanboy Nation and will issue the pre-SE version of the OT this fall. It's so pre-SE, ANH doesn't even have the "Episode IV" title in the opening crawl. No, this isn't a joke:

Grouchy fans and completists will do a happy dance but look for Fandom World War 10 over which version of the OT is "canon."

Best Sci-Fi Movie and Best Original Score

It's great ROTS took the top prize in its category and Williams's excellent score FINALLY got recognition from somebody.

I'd have to say Christian Bale in the best actor category isn't a bad choice (I was worried they'd hand it to Viggo Mortensen for A History of Violence, even though that was NOT a genre film) but I also think it's too bad I'll probably dead and gone before people fully appreciate Hayden's portrayal of Anakin. It's unfortunate Ian McDiarmid got very little recognition for his terrific performance. In fact, it downright sucks. I'm not too broken up over Trisha Biggar losing this time around, though I still think her work is better than the Ren Faire wear/WWII era costumes of Narnia. Trisha already won for AOTC and TPM. While a trifecta would have been fantastic, it's not as though the Saturns completely blew her off unlike other awards we could name.

But there's still the MTV Movie Awards. Keep voting!
