Here's a NY Times article about some of the early reviews (mentioned in a locked post from a couple of days ago) about KOTCS. Some fans have been suspicious because the movie has not been screened for anyone except for some exhibitors; the movie will be screened to the public for the first time at Cannes this Sunday. The article goes into detail about this issue as well as note a motivation someone might have for playing down a movie:

Now that I've been able to see a clean and legal version of the CW trailer, I must say I'm even more psyched! Not only is that SLJ's voice and Anthony Daniels's voice in the trailer, I'm very sure that was Temuera Morrison's voice as the clone trooper too.

It looks like Anakin returns to Tatooine with Obi-Wan and with newbie Ahsoka, since their mission is to rescue Jabba's son. This should be very interesting. Tatooine holds a lot of bad memories for Anakin and I can see why Obi-Wan would have to go talk to Jabba himself since Anakin's probably not crazy about having to deal with a slaver. Curious how that shot of Obi-Wan talking to Jabba is reminisicent of Luke approaching Jabba in ROTJ. I'm of course very interested to see Anakin's rematch with Count Dooku; it certainly recasts that scene on The Invisible Hand in ROTS where Anakin tells Dooku, "My powers have doubled since we last met, Count." Unless it turns out that Anakin and Dooku don't really duel in CW, it's just a dream or an acid trip or whatever.

The animation looks great and there's plenty of action…this is the first time I noticed it's Ahsoka on top of that walking thing as it's going up the structure. My only caveat is that I'm a little concerned there's no Padmé (despite what [livejournal.com profile] miana_dude says :P ). Perhaps I'm jumping the gun here but I really hope they don't marginalize Padmé where she's rarely seen and that Asajj and Ahsoka are kind of there to plug in the girl power in her place. She's hardly seen in post AOTC expanded universe as it is. They don't have potential ROTS spoilage as a problem anymore, so what's the deal? Have her run out on missions and stuff. It's not as though she spent the intervening three years pregnant.

I cracked up at seeing Plo Koon in the trailer, knowing how much Dave Filoni loves the guy! I have a feeling we're going to see lots of ol' Plo.

While reading an interview on some British site or other, I noticed a blinking ad for this year's Star Trek shindig in Las Vegas. If you're not familiar with it, every year there's a Trek con at the Las Vegas Hilton (home of the Star Trek Experience). It's always scheduled for the middle of summer, when it's so freakin' hot in Vegas, a Jawa would die of heat stroke. Out of curiosity, I clicked on the ad.
