The Worthlessness of SW Fandom on Twitter
Sep. 1st, 2009 07:38 pmIn some ways, I like Twitter. It's often the fastest way to find out what's going on...all you have to do is check what's a top trending topic. It's how I found out about Michael Jackson's death, for instance. You can also find obscure articles and links. Overall, its value depends on who or what you follow (and you can avoid spammers/pornographers following you).
But in terms of finding out anything new or interesting about SW, boy does it suck. 80% of the posts are recycling other people's posts, over and over for days on end. Okay, we've seen The Worst Star Wars Photo Ever 3,729 times now. Sheesh. There's maybe 1% that's worthwhile or interesting, and the rest consists of people posting stuff like "I passed gas while watching #starwars." The worst was one guy who posted tweets constantly as he bashed AOTC scene by scene, line by line. *Facepalm.*
