I Can't Wait For This Book
Oct. 8th, 2009 08:37 pmThere are a lot books due out next year (aside from the novels): a very interesting one about the sounds used in the movies and a fanboyish tome called "Head To Head" that speculates on who would win a fight in various fantasy match-ups.
But what I'm REALLY anticipating is "Star Wars Visions." I first heard about this project at Comic Con when I swung by the Acme booth. It had promotional posters available at the booth and when I asked what the heck was this "Visions" thing was about, I was told it was a book where artists would do their own SW-inspired art. Kind of like a coffee table version of Topps' "Star Wars Galaxy" card sets. The guy at Acme didn't have any more details than that, except that it's due out in 2010.
starwars.com has less info than the Acme booth rep had for some strange reason but it does feature a new piece of artwork from the book along with the Sand People one I've seen before, a beautiful portrait of Ben Kenobi:
