It is a bit of wishful thinking on the part of game lead Haden Blackman:

But my response is, please for the love of God, NO. As someone with poor eye-hand coordination and no patience for video games, I never played TFU but I did read the novel. It read almost like a serious version of my Gary Stu parody from some years back and Starkiller is so much of a Gary Stu I suspect his real name is "Gerald Martin Stuart." Video game aesthetics are one thing. But too much of it on paper usurps the role of the Skywalkers and other movie characters, not to mention bringing in Force powers never seen in the films.

(Interestingly enough, I got into a discussion today about who and who isn't a Mary Sue. I say canon characters are never Gary Stus/Mary Sues but I don't consider Starkiller any more canon than any other expanded universe character. He's really a cypher for the player.)

Worse than that, it would be little more than pandering to the fanboys who wished the prequels were more like a video game and less like a movie with a plot and stuff.
