On the morning of 12/7/41, men sleeping off a Christmas party the night before were awakened by Japanese planes shortly before 8:00 a.m.. They barely had time to scramble to defenses before the planes unloaded bombs all over the Naval base at Pearl Harbor near Honolulu, HI. The air and sea attack killed just over 2400 people and injured 1282.
