Quite a few bashers seem to be unhappy about this. I'm starting to become less and less surprised that they hated the prequels; it seems they never understood Star Wars to begin with.
I think, however, that this is fantastic news, better than I'd hoped for. An Academy Award winner and nominee--for the only two screenplays he's ever written, no less--who wrote Toy Story 3, a perfect kids' movie that struck a bigger chord with adults, and Little Miss Sunshine, an adult move with a light heart, and who is a huge Star Wars fan? He seems to be a great choice to capture the spirit of the Star Wars films. Plus, his being on board the Hunger Games sequel shows he is capable of handling relatively darker stories (though admittedly still in the young adult category). This fan's definitely happy.
