ROTJ, among other things
Sep. 26th, 2004 09:17 pmOverheard outside IKEA today...a discussion among a group of young men about whether lightsabers are possible :).
I saw this cartoon online. I couldn't have said it better myself:

ROTJ--Again, fantastic, crystal-clear, looks-brand-new picture quality. Lowry Digital rocks! The improved battle against the rancor is much appreciated. The major changes involve the prequels, both of which get lazypadawan's stamp of approval. First, there's the addition of Naboo to the celebration scene at the end, alongside Bespin, Mos Eisley, and Coruscant. GREAT move! I love it. Not only does it tie in with the prequels (and reassures me nothing happens to the planet in ROTS), not only does it serve as yet another reminder of Padmé besides Leia's hazy/vague memories of her, it will also tick off the naysayers by including Gungans. You can hear one shouting, "Weesa free!" That's right, fanboys, there will be no mass extinction of the Gungan race in ROTS. Ha ha.
Second, there's the much discussed addition of Blue Ghostie Hot!Ani. The idea of this would have once struck me as too similar to the end of Titanic where old Gloria Stewart becomes young and pretty Kate Winslet again. When I first heard about it a few months back, I was skeptical of its veracity then I wondered, "Um, why?" I wasn't angry or anything, I was just curious as to why. I couldn't see the reasoning. But watching the film, it wasn't awkward or strange at all. And despite what some people have said, I do not think he looks "sinister." It works for me because I see it as Anakin returning to his true form, as fern_withy said, his state of grace before his fall. Anakin essentially "dies" in Episode III and he is not his true self again until he was set free from the body in which he'd been trapped. Besides, if you had a choice, would you return as your cute sexy self or your old, broken, scarred self ;)? In any case Sebastian Shaw is still there for the unmasking, when he actually had to act anyway. As far as most people are concerned, Hayden is the guy they'll think of as Anakin anyway.
