Darth Media/Critic Watch, Other Stuff
May. 4th, 2005 08:03 pmI forgot to mention how 7-11 has become a shrine to Star Wars. With the new Slurpee cups, the Yoda mug, SW tie-in snack foods, even some SW doodads like the Buddies or the bobble head pens, and the lottery scratch off tickets (now "scratch" coins as well), they may as well have the employees wear Vader masks while they're at it. Hey, it would scare away the robbers! I got one of the Darth Dew Slurpees yesterday in one of the lenticular cups. My God, that stuff is liquid amphetamines! Sugar and caffeine megabuzz!
I plan on getting the other cup with Evil!Anakin and the boys dueling...but I don't know if I can handle three more vats of Slurpees (these are big cups) plus a Yoda mug.
My Anakin/Padmé still from Official Pix arrived today. Excellent quality and it was very well-packed. Highly recommended.
At lunch I bought the ROTS soundtrack. Normally I never buy these things before the movie comes out. But I wanted to watch the DVD! I won't listen to the CD until after I see the flick. As it turns out, it's a big t.v. night with a new episode of Lost, American Idol, and the AI expose on ABC. So I'll watch it tomorrow.
Starlog was expen$ive at eight bucks but the interviews with Hayden Christensen and with Rick McCallum are pretty good. Starlog was fair, acknowledging there were those who didn't like the prequels but it doesn't bash the flicks itself. There are some cute SW-themed cartoons, too.
More reviews are creeping in and as of yet there are no outright bad reviews. In fact, they have been generally positive. We'll have to see though.
O/T: At last, Scott got the boot. Backlash!
