Random stuff XII
Nov. 21st, 2006 04:33 amTFN linked to some contest or other that ties in with Cinemax showing the saga in HD, where people send in their home-made videos on why they should be Jedi. Most of the entries are sub-YouTube level. But there's a professionally-made promo video with a couple of rapping Jedi. They could take some lessons from Jay-Z, but it's entertaining enough:

TFN also notes that the movie Fanboys will be out on April 30, 2007.
I've started working on my latest SagaJournal paper, so with any luck, I'll have it done on time!
Non-fannish stuff:
1. They cancelled OJ Simpson's book and t.v. appearance. Yay! The whole enterprise was sick from the get-go. What kind of a lunatic would write a book explaining how he'd murdered someone if he didn't really do it? Is this really the best way to try and clear your name? And what kind of nut would want to read this book or watch that show? Well, I guess OJ will have to rejoin Robert Blake and Claus Von Bulow in their ongoing quest to find out who really whacked their wives.
2. What is up with Michael Richards's bizarre meltdown at a comedy club? (He was Kramer on "Seinfeld.") In case you've been sleeping under a rock today, the ex-Kramer was heckled during a comedy routine and Richards responded with a string of obscenities and the dreaded "n-word." Today I heard on the radio a recording of this outburst (bleeped out where appropriate) and he sounded completely enraged. He was practically shrieking at these guys. I know from experience that people can be very different off-camera than they are on-camera or out of character, but as they say in the South, day-um.
3. Lately I've considered starting a blog or something for the size 10-18 set. Most generic fashion boards/blogs are full of women in the size 0-8 range. Meanwhile, the plus-sized ones are full of women who are size 20 on up and to be honest, I tire quickly of the victim mentality and identity politics. But the question is where. Here on LJ? Blogspot? The evil MySpace??? Meditate on this, I will.
