Generic fan geek stuff
Nov. 22nd, 2006 02:17 amIt looks like Middle Earth and Peter Jackson have parted for good. New Line told Jackson, "So long" (presumably not in Elvish) as it rolls forward with plans to film "The Hobbit" AND a prequel to the LOTR flicks.
Excuse me, a prequel??? (*Eeek, something else they're gonna blame Papa George for!*) "The Hobbit" is the prequel to LOTR! *Eye roll.* In any case, I figured this was going to happen since Jackson's production company sued New Line over allegations New Line ripped off Jackson to the tune of $100 million. That kind of poisons the well, doesn't it?
For those of you who live west of the Mississippi, have you seen Jack In The Box's new ad for some new sandwich or other? Three dorky guys in bad costumes get in a line they think is for a "Galaxy Raiders" but is in fact for this Jack In The Box product (not to be confused with the line for McDonald's McRib sandwich). As they leave the line and pass Jack, they yell, "Hyperspace!" and Jack responds with, "Grilled onions!" as he's doing the loser "L" on his forehead. So why are you less of a loser to line up for a burger--there must be only one JIB in town--than you are for a movie? At least nobody was stabbed or shot lining up for any of the SW films, unlike the mayhem last week for Playstation 3.
