I was going to post my brief history of various SW alumni biting the hands that once fed them, but in light of the huge reaction I got from yesterday's post about that article I saw on Desiring Hayden, I'll hold it off until tomorrow.

My Insider FINALLY showed up...right as the new issue is on the stands at the store. Place your bets now on whether the new publisher will be more timely in sending me issues. Did you see the new t-shirts by Chunk on StarWarsShop.com? I kinda like the Leia one. It's different, that's for sure ;).

starwars.com posted today that Matthew Stover is going to write a book about Luke taking on the shadowtroopers post-ROTJ. It's due out next February. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is sorta based on a Marvel storyline.

Today marks the 10th anniversary of TESB Special Edition (February 21, 1997). I went back to the same theater where I saw ANH:SE with my friend Debbie for the first show of the morning. I wore my cool new Han-n-Leia t-shirt, one of the few licensed items ever to celebrate a SW 'ship. There was a group of high school boys who were at the first ANH show and sure enough, the same guys were back.

Interestingly enough, this was the first time I'd seen TESB in the theater since 1980. Really. I only saw TESB once in its initial run the day after Memorial Day. I didn't see it again until 1987 on t.v.. It wasn't because I didn't like the movie or anything, it was mostly because I never had another chance to see it. So I was really excited to see it on the big screen after all of those years. I wasn't disappointed, though Debbie and I cracked up at the "new" footage of Vader's shuttle landing inside the Executor, obviously recycled from ROTJ. All in all, good times.

One thing's for sure on AI...this is going to be battle of the divas. The guys are so bland this time around, with a couple of exceptions. And even the exceptions don't stack up well against the four or five best ladies tonight. Sure, we'll see how they do during Barry Manilow week or country week, but it's looking like Season Three, when you pretty much knew early on Fantasia was going to win.

And this year's Fantasia may very well be LaKisha. Not only does she have a blow-you-out-the-backdoor voice, stage presence, and a Fantasia-esque story, she was the only one out of 23 people whose performance looked easy. If I was one of the other contestants, I'd be hoping an anvil falls on her head or Smoking Gun.com finds something sleazy in her past. Because so long as LaKisha does her thing every week and doesn't get lazy, this will only be a contest to see who gets second place.

Ah, Lost. Not only do you go back to focusing only on Sawyer, Kate, and Jack after it was clear the fans missed the other characters, you bring in the irritating Bai Ling. *Shakes head.*
