I also see that we'll have more Artoo/astromech builders and the annual Fan Film Awards competition at Celebration. Given the "rivalry" between the L.A. Artoo builders club and the Washington, D.C. Artoo builders club, it'll be interesting to see what happens ;).

Oh, wow, that doll is so incredible. And wouldn't it be neat if they did a Padme or Leia for Girls' Day to match?

We actually have a guy here in our local SW group, John (who bears that shocking resemblance to Mark Hamill, actually, to the point where he's justifiably known as Luke....although, hrm, I wonder what sort of a figure he'd cut in full Anakin garb....well, there's only one way to find out, right?) who's pretty much finished making a full-fledged, completely workable, remote-controlled Artoo which can whir around, flash its light, chirp and twitter and everything that we know and love our adorable little astromech for....I've seen one pic of it whilst still in-progress, and he's done a simply *awesome* job with it, and we should have our fully-functioning, true-to-life Artoo out and tootling around with us for parade appearances 'n' such soon enough, I should think (which will also make us the only folks 'round these parts with an Artoo, by the way....eeeeeeee, how exciting! :)

And, actually, after he's finished with this one, he's told me that he'll be tackling Arfour next....all the better to have two astromech droids on hand for our purposes, I figure; besides, this way he'll have one to remote-control and play with, and I'll be able to try my hand at it with Arfour, who I've always found simply adorable anyway.... (like how he sounds in AOTC, that little Arfour-Pea hardwired into the wing of Obi-Wan's starfighter....aaaaahhhhhh, too cute, truly!) And, well, hey, who knows but what....Artoo needs companionship anyway....a girlfriend, as 'twere. Then we could even have astromech ballroom dancing, I suppose....and oh, the mental image that's just inspired too.... ;) :D
