Finally, cool stuff arrives in the mail!
My friend Debbie, who roomed with me at Celebration, drove down to L.A. with a friend of hers (Marie from my Celebration reports) from Sonoma County, CA, which is about 50 miles north of San Francisco. Before traveling to L.A., Debbie and Marie went to this warehouse where they are selling off all kinds of overstock from Lucas Licensing. I'd heard of this place before but I was under the impression it was only open to the public occasionally. Nope! It's open to the public 7 days a week until all of the stuff is gone. According to Debbie, they had all kinds of things ranging from promotional items to greeting cards to toys to t-shirts to stickers to posters, etc.. Most of it was made mid 1990s-2005 and it includes quite a bit of stuff made for the foreign markets. In L.A., Debbie told me she saw some things she thought would interest me and offered to get them for me after she goes back to Sonoma. Of course I said, "Sure!"
A box arrives today and inside were a large (and thankfully uninflated) Queen Amidala Mylar balloon, a couple of Shoebox Hallmark cards made in the mid '90s I never found in the stores, and two banner type posters for AOTC, both featuring Anakin and Padmé. The paper is more like photographic paper (glossy too) than regular poster paper. *Squee.*
