Those were both excellent...at totally opposite emotional extremes.

I'm picturing thousands of holos featuring noble Nexu kittens with demeaning captions floating in the air above them! If only things had been different, after a few years, Anakin would've learned to keep his mouth shut about any of his wife's shortcomings.

And what a brutal and true line: "Deep within his heart, he knew he'd been told the truth and a lie. But she was still gone with their child."

That visual of Vader's hand on Padme's sarcophagus is awesome, it screams for a painting--I'm picturing Joe Corroney, who did that great Shmi/Vader Pieta, painting it.

1st story made me sad, but it was a good close to that part of his life. That you marked the parallels between him not being able to save his mother or his wife was well done.
