Oh woe is me!
The good news is I passed my drivers' license written test and I'm now an official CA driver.
The bad news concerns my iBook.
At the beginning of July, my iBook screen went wiggy. I decided not to take it in to get fixed until I got to San Diego. So this entire time I have been using my mom's PowerBook.
I took it to the Apple store in Fashion Valley on July 17. I finally got it back today and despite requesting ProCare to protect the data, they not only didn't use ProCare, but everything that was on my computer is now gone.
My resume, my articles, my essays, my editorials, my fan fic, my fan art, my thousands of pictures, including all of the most luscious Hayden photos known to exist, are GONE.
Waaaaaaah!!!

Date: 2004-07-29 05:18 pm (UTC)I shudder only to think about that happening to me...
The logical question is, did you make backups, but on the other hand, I know how "responsible" I tend to be with those, so I guess even if you made them it's not 100% help.

Date: 2004-07-30 07:06 am (UTC)That's. Very. Annoying.
I remember to have a lost some of my things (including fiction) when doing backups on a dysfunct CD-RW (had no idea that it was going dysfunct) and I still feel remotely angry about that.
What can I say. What can *you* say. Whatever you do or say, it won't bring back those files.
I know how that sounds but at least you *will* back up things from now on and never rely on other people to do it.
