The winner of last week's round was Talon Karrde by several parsecs. Is Timothy Zahn spamming my poll or something? All of the winners thus far have been his characters and they all won by huge margins. Aayla Secura came in second, and since Siri Tachi and Xanatos tied for third, they will all go on to the semi-finals.

Now for this week's lineup, the last before the semi-finals.

Quinlan Vos--(Republic) Almost a movie character like his former padawan Aayla Secura, dreadlocked Quin instead has to settle for comic book stardom. This guy is even more troublesome than Anakin was, which makes you wonder why the Jedi Council picked on poor Ani in the first place ;).
Kyle Katarn--(Dark Forces) The video game hero with shoulders the size of a small African country even survived getting shish-kebabed by a lightsaber. Wow!
Corran Horn--(X-Wing Rogue Squadron) A Corellian Jedi Master who can fly right up there with Wedge and Luke.
Darth Revan--(Knights of the Old Republic) This video game star quickly became a fan favorite.
Darth Bane--(TPM novelization/Jedi vs. Sith/Darth Bane novels) Founder of the "modern" Sith cult and the guy who came up with the clever plan of limiting the Sith order to just two at a time.
Jaina Solo--(The Last Command) Han and Leia's eldest child and their only daughter, the "Sword of the Jedi" juggles men, Jedi duties, and flight missions.
Jacen Solo/Darth Caedus--(The Last Command) The Jan Brady of the Solo clan and Jaina's twin, Jacen goes from making dorky jokes and cuddling with animals to spawning out-of-wedlock souvenirs and terrorizing the galaxy. Talk about middle child syndrome!

[Poll #1124582]

The TOP THREE go on to the semi-finals!

Reading the Star Wars Usenet newsgroup in the mid-to-late 1990s, I had the impression that a great many fans divided the writers of the Star Wars novels into Zahn and the people who kept trying to destroy his crystalline perfection of vision when it came to new characters and a direction for the Star Wars universe. While I suppose my awareness of the New Jedi Order and after comes almost entirely from hearsay, I got the impression that there, everyone else had finally been hectored into following Zahn's lead... but that would only make his characters more popular, of course.
