Yeah, about a year or so after the prequels finished up. I just wasn't excited about Star Wars for months. Eventually, I got back in the game and SW remains my favorite fandom. I love the Clone Wars. Although it's not quite the same without any new movies.
Yes, with a big one for me, Star Trek. The reboot didn't even move me to see it and once upon a time, as a fan from TOS, I'd have been right on it. That didn't happen with the peripheral fandoms, like Man From U.N.C.L.E. and Wild, Wild West, along with some others that didn't burn as brightly, as they remain on the back burner, simmering. But ST? Fizzle.
The SW OT is definitely way down in the wattage, also, but the PT and all the Clone Wars series, 2D and 3D, are right up there.
Given that I sort of "spread my interests," I suppose I have moved away from (and back to, in some cases) different things over the years, although I've also spent time going to low-traffic message boards and wishing the other people on them posted as much as they used to... Still, at times I wonder if I have an exaggerated negative opinion of "fandom" in the sense of "I'm interested in this thing, but I'm suspicious other people are just going to complain about it, and where's the fun in that?" Certainly, I went through a "dark time" where "off-topic" comments had convinced me there was no positivity left anywhere about Star Wars, and I was scared to watch the movies any more for fear I would have the same hostile reaction as "everyone else"... I'm glad I got out of that period, of course.
