OT: NYE Superstitions

Many people I know think New Year's Eve is about celebrating, drinking, and planting one on that special someone at midnight.
I will tell you right now none of that will help you in the New Year.
Every New Year's Eve, I do two things. One, I have twelve grapes (with seeds), that I have to eat and spit out the seeds within the last 20 seconds or so before midnight without choking. This will bring you good luck over the coming year.
The other thing I do is keep my feet off the ground at midnight to ensure I will get to travel in the New Year. It has never failed and I have been doing this for over 20 years! If you like to travel, do the same thing. A variation of the same superstition dictates that you have a packed suitcase ready and at midnight, you walk around your house. My way's easier.
I've heard it said that in Hungary, it is bad luck to eat chicken for New Year's Eve dinner. Why? Chicken is an inexpensive meat and eating it will ensure you will be broke over the coming year.
