Clone Wars rocks!
Apr. 2nd, 2004 08:07 pmIt's halfway through (or a little bit more than halfway) season two of the CW cartoon series and I have to say, it's awesome!
I'm an unabashed fan of the action, chases, explosions, lightsaber duels, etc. and CW serves up a lot of that. The fantastic animation and straight-from-the-movies sound effects give it that authentic SW feel.
But I'm also impressed with how much is packed into each 3-5 minute segment aside from the action. I think the main players are mostly in character: Anakin's single-minded pursuit of Ventriss to the point of disobeying Obi-Wan, Obi-Wan's irritation with and fear for his padawan, and Padmé's inability to just wait on the sidelines as well as her cleverness. There's some great humor in it as well, particularly the ARC trooper answering Obi-Wan's rhetorical comments with "No, General/Yes, General" or Yoda pulling his rather unethical mind trick on Captain Typho.
Bottom line, this is a labor of love by real honest-to-goodness SW fans. I eagerly await Anakin's duel with Ventriss and the debut of General Grievous.
