Especially, I think, because they are starting with TPM (my personal feelings on it or any of the movies aside, I think it has the worst rap among non-fans and people who haven't even seen it), they need to be worried about drumming up interest if they're going to make it work. The die-hard fans already know about it and are either going to be first in line, or have already made up their minds for whatever reason not to care. But if they want this to be a success, they need what they had for the OT SEs back in '97. People who had never seen a Star Wars movie saw them for the first time, people took their kids who had been too young, people who had been there back in '77 but hadn't bought any of the videos or anything since were there. They don't need to sell this to the die-hard fans, but if they don't get the trailer out there, the casual fans and the people who were there in '99 and maybe haven't been there since aren't going to know and aren't going to care.

Yup, exactly. They handled the Special Editions just right and it paid off.
