Here's what I'm planning to unleash upon various Star Wars fan sites this week:
Star Wars Prequel Appreciation Day 2011: May 19, 2011
The SWPAS is sponsoring the second annual Star Wars Prequel Appreciation Day on May 19. Fans are encouraged to “attend” the event at its Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=215414688469669) and post what they love about Eps I-III.
Fans are also encouraged to visit the SWPAS site (http://starwarsprequelappreciationsociety.wordpress.com/) and participate in our first drawing for a $25 gift card from Amazon.com. All you have to do to enter is submit a piece by May 18 on “What We Love About The Prequels” to SWPASadmin@gmail.com. Guidelines are found here (http://starwarsprequelappreciationsociety.wordpress.com/2011/01/14/what-we-love-about-the-prequels/) and examples are found here (http://starwarsprequelappreciationsociety.wordpress.com/category/what-i-love-about-the-prequels/). Drawing will be on May 19-20 and a winner will be announced thereafter.
Help share the love as we count down the days to the Star Wars saga release on Blu-Ray in September and TPM’s re-release on February 10, 2012!

Stuff That's Going On...
Feb. 18th, 2010 10:17 pmI'm taking the day off tomorrow. Remember my prize karma, when I won a 1/2 day off at the office Christmas party? Well I have lots of leave time, so I'm taking off the whole day, heh heh.
What will I do with lazypadawan's Day Off? Steal a vintage car, crash a parade, and lip sync to "Twist and Shout?" No, something more mundane. I think I will head up to Costa Mesa to check out the Adidas Originals store there and see what else they have in the SW sneaker line. (Then I'll probably go to Fashion Island nearby and go nuts at the huge Anthropologie store there. Seriously, Anthro is my personal crack dealer.)
I'm coming up with all kinds of ideas for SW Prequel Appreciation Society, including but not limited to: collecting fan stories from people who got into SW because of Eps I-III, sponsoring a contest, and urging PT fans to start DIY their merch because Lucas Licensing isn't going to do it for them. I'm liking the cool and vintage-y tees out there but it's like they're totally blowing off the PT flicks and the CW stuff they do have is for kids :/. If you don't read SWPAS or you don't get jedi_news, you have to check out this rebuttal to that moron's YouTube TPM bashfest:

SWPAS Turns Two
Oct. 29th, 2009 07:19 pmMy humble little blog appreciating all things prequel trilogy and Clone Wars is now a terrible two. Here are my thoughts on the site and what I've come to believe is the problem with life, the universe, and everything:

I Was A Star Wars Pundit
Dec. 13th, 2007 06:15 pmThis is the amazing true story of how I was going to appear in a t.v. special called Episode 1 Unauthorized: The Phantom Menace for The Sci-Fi Channel back in 1999.
Back in April 1999, SW-mania was at a fever pitch with TPM's release only weeks away. I got a phone call on Easter Sunday from a young man who was a producer of an upcoming SW special for Sci-Fi, or what was then called The Sci-Fi Channel. He wanted to know if I was interested in coming up to New York the following Sunday to tape a panel discussion on SW.
I'm not sure where or how this guy found out my contact information. I could've been referred by the official SW fan club's Jon Bradley Snyder, who referred me to a journo around the time the Special Editions were released in 1997, or I might have responded to a post on The Force.Net or some other message board.
The associate producer was very talky and he was concerned I was a little quiet on the phone. He asked for reassurance several times that I would be more loquacious on camera. Admittedly, I'm very shy and reserved by nature, but get me going on SW and I could talk your ear off. I said I would do the show and he then gave me the details. They would reimburse me for gas or however I planned to get to New York short of renting a Gulfstream. They could not however book me in a hotel. Given that I was coming from the Washington, D.C. area, where I lived at the time, I could theoretically go and come back within a day.
