Thanks to a fan on Desiring Hayden.net's forum, here's the complaint filed by Hayden and his brother against USA Network for "Royal Pains":

Hayden Christensen and his brother Tove are suing USA Network, claiming the show "Royal Pains" ripped off an idea they pitched in 2005 for a show called "Housecalls." The Christensens claimed they pitched a show about a doctor whose clients are the rich and famous to USA execs, while "Royal Pains" is about a couple of brothers who serve the wealthy residents of the Hamptons.

http://www.theforce.net/latestnews/story/Hayden_Christensen_Suing_The_USA_Network_132425.asp

Now let's call in our legal expert, lazypadawan. In these kinds of cases, the plaintiff must make a prima fascie showing that the defendant had access to the material or idea. Once the plaintiff does that, the defendant must prove it did not use the plaintiff's material or ideas and that the show, movie, song, or whatever was developed independently and/or the end product is substantially different from the plaintiff's idea.

As you might have figured out, if the Christensens pitched the show to USA as they said and can prove it, they'll easily leap over that initial hurdle. I think what's key here is the brothers' claim that their show was about a "concierge" doctor who goes to their clients' homes instead of an office, which is one of the things about "Royal Pains" that separates it from other medi-dramas. It will then be up to USA to prove its show was somehow purely a coinkydink. Or settle ASAP.

This is Matt Lanter's new flick, a Twilight spoof called "Vampires Suck":

I admit, I laughed at the werewolf guys dancing to "It's Raining Men" and the vampires "ordering Chinese." Also laughed at "OMG, you're the Black Eyed Peas!"

David Prowse has been booted from the roster of guests appearing at Celebration V. Why? Lucasfilm declared him persona non grata. Here's what Prowse posted on his site:

"It is with regret that I have been informed by my friends at C2 Ventures, Ben and Phillip, that I am not to be invited to C5 this year or any other Lucas Film associated events. After enquiring, the only thing I have been told is that I have "burnt too many bridges between Lucas Film and myself" - no other reason given."

TFN verified this with its co-owner/Rebelscum owner/Official Pix owner Philip Wise:

"Lucasfilm does have the right to prevent celebrity invitations to official Star Wars conventions and they did exercise this right as it relates to Dave Prowse and Celebration V."

Burnt too many bridges? Ya think? The only thing shocking about this whole story is why it took this long for it to happen. Prowse hasn't had much of anything kind to say about his former boss over the past few decades, yet he's been to prior Celebrations and other events.

Speculate and discuss.

With the oil spill crisis in the Gulf of Mexico, unemployment, global instability, and other more important problems in the world, somebody has to comment on the trivial stuff.

Harrison Ford may have found wedded bliss for the third time, but it has been heartache for Hayden Christensen. Or maybe not, depending, heh heh. He and long-time snogbunny Rachel Bilson have "taken a break," ending their engagement and plans to marry this summer. I figured there was trouble in paradise; he and Bilson were almost inseparable for a long time and then all of a sudden, he went off to Brazil by himself for some junket and he brought his grandma to a recent fashion event in New York. Recent paparazzi photos of Miss Bilson showed the missing rock on her hand.

People who care about celebrity couples were saddened by the news while Hayden fangirls and Nayden shippers danced with joy. Sure, it's possible they could get back together. Pat Benatar broke up with Neil Giraldo before they got married and they're still together after 28 years. Jessica Alba broke up with Cash Warren, now they're married and raising their admittedly cute daughter. Elizabeth Taylor married Richard Burton twice. But if you need to "take a break" when you're supposedly madly in love and planning your wedding, the prognosis is grim. It means that either the relationship has run its course and the thrill is gone, or it means there's an external problem that put the brakes on proceeding further. Whatever the case may be, it's better they figured it out now instead of an expensive divorce later.

Hayden, if you're reading this and you need a shoulder to cry on, I'm here for you.

Please show up shirtless and tipsy.

Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart finally got the prenup nailed down and were married a day or two ago at the governor's mansion in New Mexico, where Ford is filming a new movie. Gov. Richardson presided.

Too bad they didn't wait for that Celebration V Chapel!

Let's see, a few days ago we found out that Anthony Daniels will be taking a break from Star Wars In Concert to drop by Celebration; I couldn't imagine the guy missing it.

Then Official Pix jumped the gun by announcing Gary Kurtz as a guest before he formally signed on the dotted line; the announcement was quickly pulled but Philip Wise posted on Rebelscum's forum that for all intents and purposes, Kurtz will be there. Plus he promised a forthcoming announcement on an "oh, cool, he's signing??!" kind of guest. Uh, who could that be?

Kurtz did appear at Celebration IV and he's appeared at cons in Europe for years but I think this is the first time he'll be in the same building as Papa George at like the same time in ages :O. Interesting.

At least that's what Women's Wear Daily & Stylefrizz are saying:

http://stylefrizz.com/201006/natalie-portman-for-dior-perfumes/

This makes her the fourth PT alumni to be the "face" of some sort of fragrance. Keira Knightley has been the face of Chanel for the past few years, Ewan McGregor appeared in ads for Davidoff, and Hayden Christensen is Lacoste's poster boy. Shouldn't Samuel L. Jackson be signed for something? "Smell like a bad mother******." Christopher Lee would be an awesome spokesmodel for just about anything.

No word on when ads will start to appear, but more than likely by this fall. Wonder if those will be vegan and 100% eco-friendly perfumes?

Some lucky bastards who managed to score tickets will be awash in geek celebrity at L.A.'s Arclight Theater tonight as TESB is screened in digital format along with a Q&A featuring Harrison Ford. There was so much demand for tix that a second theater with a simulcast of the Q&A was added. That sold out too.

Among the celebs besides Ford slated to attend: Peter Mayhew, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams, Christopher Nolan, Jon Favreau, Ewan McGregor, James Arnold Taylor (DUDE, HE AND EWAN MUST MEET!!), and Matt Lanter. I'm sure we'll hear about more famous folks in the audience after the event.

Update: starwars.com has pictures and a write-up. Hamill was a no-show but just about everyone associated with Clone Wars was there (except for Ashley Eckstein, who is working on her gig as co-host of Star Wars Weekends in Orlando) along with Ewan McGregor.

As I noted on my other site, Star Wars Prequel Appreciation Society, starwars.com formally announced that Hayden Christensen was going to be our Anakin in Episodes II and III on 5/12/00. I can't believe it has been that long already!

Hayden and his fiancée Rachel Bilson were at Sunday's U.S.A. vs. Canada Battle of the NHL All-Stars hockey game. Doesn't he look adorable? Awww.

Not only are they really making a film version of the popular satire "Pride And Prejudice And Zombies," Natalie Portman signed on to play zombie slayer Elizabeth Bennet and most surprisingly, she's producing the darn thing.

This could be really interesting...

The official starwars.com blog posted that back in 1971, Harrison Ford and Billy Dee Williams guest-starred on the same episode of an obscure Burt Reynolds t.v. show, "Dan August." No word on whether they actually acted together in any of the same scenes. Gary Busey, Mickey Rooney, and David "Starksy and Hutch" Soul also starred on the show.

Ever since The Official starwars.com Blog mentioned that one of the Mandalorians seen in the new Clone Wars teaser had an "oddly familiar voice," fans have speculated and gossiped about who that "oddly familiar" guy might be.

Most people have taken to the theory that the familiar guy is a famous person in real life, not that the character sounds like another SW character we already know. Young Boba Fett is supposed to appear in the series next season but the Mando is clearly an adult and he sounds nothing like Boba/Jango/the clone dudes.

Who might this special guest star be? The rumors narrowed it down to Jon Favreau and to Mark Hamill. A fan site devoted to Hamill has already shot down this rumor, so...is it Favreau? Is it somebody else?

You tell me.

Do you have $500 burning a hole in your wallet? If so, you might want to check out a charity auction Ashley Eckstein was promoting at Comic Con.

The bat is a Louisville Slugger David Eckstein signature bat painted green like Ahsoka's lightsaber and signed by six members of Eckstein's team, the San Diego Padres, and the main cast of Clone Wars. All proceeds benefit The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego. If you're interested in bidding, the auction runs until August 9. Go to Padres.com and click on "Auction."

This was apparently shown at the Spectacular after I left. Of course ;). But it's a longer version of the one shown at Walt Disney World. Oooh, Padmé's gonna have some 'splaining to do! Anakin looked so ticked! That dude she's hugging is known as Dead Man Walking.

Anyway, done with Comic Con for '09. Prices up to $100 for '10 for four days! Yikes! Got Mark Hamill's autograph, got Matt Lanter's as well.

The long narrative is still coming...

Lucas is still the highest-earning guy in showbiz:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/8153355.stm

What's really funny is to see who else is on that list. I can see Steven Spielberg and Jerry Bruckheimer in the top three, I'm not at all surprised to see Simon Cowell. But it also includes Dr. Phil, Tyler Perry (of those "Madea" movies), and Dick "Law & Order" Wolf.

Because Federal law prohibits any Marvel comic from escaping a big screen adaptation, Kenneth Brannaugh (??!!) of all people is directing the movie version of Thor. Now, of all of the Marvel pantheon, Thor was one of the cooler superheroes. Anyone else remember the little girl who was obsessed with Thor in Adventures In Babysitting? Anyway, they've confirmed the rumor that Natalie Portman is back on the genre wagon by joining the cast as nurse Jane Foster. Check it out here:

Mama needs new shoes! I think Brian "Boss Nass" Blessed is in this too, so it's a veritable TPM reunion ;).

TFN had a link to a video of ILM home movies made during ANH's production. Wonder in amazement at how these hippies managed to get any work done in between feasts, parties, and rounds on a slip-n-slilde, much less win a bunch of Oscars:
